LOCTITE 271 is a high-strength red, low-viscosity methacrylate-based threadlocking adhesive supplied in a 50 mL bottle (Series 271, part 27131). It is formulated for use on metal fasteners up to 1" diameter (compatible with most metals) and tolerates slight contamination by industrial oils. Typical steel fixture time is ~10 minutes; full cure in ~24 hours. Breakaway torque varies by application (examples: 150–300 lb./in for 3/8-16 steel nuts & grade 5 bolts). Removal may require hand tools or heat. Maximum recommended operating temperature is 300°F. Standards: ABS Approved; CFIA Approved.
