Loctite 243 (Loctite 442-1329505) is a versatile medium-strength liquid threadlocker engineered to cure consistently on a variety of metals despite minor surface contaminants. It works on steel, stainless steel and most plated fasteners and tolerates thread lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids. Designed for automotive and industrial fastening applications, it resists vibration, shock and shudder, prevents corrosion and leakage, and reduces the need for larger fasteners. The product is removable with standard hand tools. Loctite 243 blue threadlocker has approximately a 24 hour cure time, delivers a shear strength near the product specification, and operates across a broad temperature range.
