Victron Energy ArgoDiode Battery Isolators (2 Batteries)
Customize
Victron Energy ArgoDiode battery isolators permit simultaneous charging of two or more batteries from a single alternator while keeping batteries electrically isolated. This prevents discharge of one battery (for example an accessory battery) from draining the starter battery. The ArgoDiode design uses high-efficiency Schottky diodes, resulting in a low voltage drop (approximately 0.3 V at low current and about 0.45 V at rated output). All models include a compensation diode to slightly raise alternator output and compensate for diode voltage drop. Installing an isolator in the alternator-to-battery cabling can slightly reduce charge voltage; the AC diode isolators feature a special current-limited energize input that will power the B+ when the engine run/stop switch is closed, addressing alternators that require DC on B+ to start charging.
