Sandable Primer Red Oxide

Moeller Marine Products 025730 Sandable Primer Red Oxide is a professional-grade, sandable aerosol primer formulated for marine environments and metal surfaces. This self-etching phosphate primer chemically bonds with aluminum and steel to form a corrosion-resistant base coat, improving the adhesion of topcoats and helping to fight rust. The 12 fl oz tube aerosol offers quick-dry performance and single-coat hiding suitable for small repairs, welded joints, and areas requiring a dependable protective primer. Ideal for use on bare metal, steel, iron, fiberglass and wood above the waterline; for aluminum above or below the waterline use zinc chromate primers as specified. Features include corrosion resistance, superior adhesion, quick-dry formula, and the ability to help level nicks and hairline cracks. Net content: 12 fl oz aerosol.

• For aluminum surfaces above or below the waterline use our Zinc Chromate; this power primer etches into the aluminum to form a strong surface / primer bond that is corrosion resistant.
• For surfaces above the waterline, including bare metal, steel, iron, fiberglass, and wood.
• For steel and iron surfaces, especially welded joints, above or below the water line, use Zinc Cold Galvanizing or Zinc Phosphate; this corrosive barrier contains a high percentage (95′) of zinc, giving maximum protection against solvents and abrasives.
