3M Scotch-Seal Mastic Tape Compound 2229 is a 125-mil conformable, tacky vinyl-rubber mastic coated on an easy-release liner for reliable electrical insulating, sealing and padding applications. The mastic easily molds and conforms to irregular surfaces, offering excellent moisture resistance and durable, self-healing performance after cuts or punctures. It adheres to metals, rubbers and cable insulations and jackets, providing stable performance across a wide temperature range and resisting UV exposure. Recommended for industrial electrical uses such as sealing cable splices, terminations and padding, it delivers high-temperature stability with continuous operating capability up to 194°F (90°C).
