Boker Applegate-Fairbairn Combat II - fixed blade knife with Kydex sheath

The various versions of the Boker Applegate-Fairbairn have been convincing special forces all over the world for years and have emerged as an icon among tactical knives. The knife goes back to the classic Fairbairn-Sykes dagger from World War II and was designed by Col.Rex Applegate. The elite soldier coordinated secret operations throughout Europe during the war and even became President Franklin D. Roosevelt's personal guard. He trained Allied Special Forces in close combat and founded the School for Spies and Assassins in today's Camp David. Later he continued to work as a consultant and trainer, wrote numerous books about close quarter combat and began to develop and improve the perfect combat knife. The Boker Fixed Blade Applegate-Fairbairn Combat II Knife uses fiberglass-reinforced Delrin handle, thickened in the center for a sure grip. A lanyard hole adds convenience. The handle meets a short, forward-bending cross guard that protects the fingers. Boker achieved the knife's preferred rearward balance by inserting steel weights into the handle - a beautifully ergonomic design. The 6 inch blade on this 10 3/4 inch knife has effective reach, with a 1 inch wide blade that's beefy all the way to the tip. Struck of Solingen 440C stainless steel hardened to a Rockwell of 58, the blade has the signatures of Rex Applegate and W.E. Fairbairn etched into the bead-blasted finish. Sheathed in Kydex and including large Tek-Lok.
