This Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter provides a simple solution for connecting newer Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) hosts to older Thunderbolt 2 and Thunderbolt 1 devices, including external storage bays and select Thunderbolt displays. It supports 20Gbps connections to Thunderbolt 2 devices and 10Gbps to Thunderbolt 1 devices. The adapter is bus-powered and provides up to 12W for bus-powered peripherals. It uses a physical Mini DisplayPort connector for Thunderbolt devices (it does not adapt to mini DisplayPort/DisplayPort signals) and includes an 8-inch built-in cable. The adapter is NOT bidirectional — it will not connect TB3 peripherals to TB1/TB2 hosts — and it is not compatible with Mini DisplayPort/DisplayPort-only monitors or Thunderbolt 4 computers. Compatible with Windows and macOS on Thunderbolt 3 certified systems. Jacket material: Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). Connector on first end: 1 x 24-pin USB Type C Thunderbolt 3 (Male).
