MEGAWARE KeelGuard is the original do-it-yourself keel protector designed to prevent abrasive wear and damage to boat keels and gelcoat. Constructed from an abrasion-resistant blend of polymers and urethanes, KeelGuard uses a pressure-sensitive 3M acrylic adhesive to permanently bond and seal contoured edges to the hull surface. Angled grooves form hydrodynamic channels for reduced drag and a slicker surface while the pliable 5-inch width conforms to keel contours and absorbs shock. The product is offered in nine standard lengths (4 to 12 feet) and multiple UV-stable colors to match boats; some kits include installation primer and tools. KeelGuard protects keels from sand, rocks, concrete ramps and oyster beds and is compatible with fiberglass and some aluminum boats. Installation is a straightforward 4-step DIY process (etch, clean, prime, apply). MEGAWARE guarantees the product to the original purchaser against abrasive wear and adhesion failure during normal use for as long as you own your boat.
